Arsenal heads up north to face Newcastle United at St. James’ Park this afternoon at 16:30 local time, as Mikel Arteta aims to secure three points.

After a dramatic draw against Manchester City last weekend, the Gunners face tough opposition again and will need to deliver their best performance to achieve a positive result.

Here’s a look at their potential lineup for the match.

Goalkeeper – David Raya is anticipated to start as goalkeeper, taking over from Kepa Arrizabalaga, who featured in the midweek Carabao Cup match against Port Vale.

Defenders – William Saliba could keep his position from the cup game, while Gabriel Magalhaes is set to reclaim his spot in the center of defense for Arsenal. Ben White and Myles Lewis-Skelly might be replaced by Jurrien Timber and Riccardo Calafiori at right-back and left-back, respectively.

Zubimendi and Gyokeres Return to the Starting Lineup

Midfielders£51 million summer acquisition Martin Zubimendi did not participate in the Carabao Cup match, so he will be fresh for the clash with Newcastle United. Mikel Merino, a former Newcastle player, may also join him in midfield after playing as a forward against Port Vale. Declan Rice may complete what promises to be Arsenal’s strongest midfield trio.

Forwards – Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka are likely to keep their spots from the last game, potentially playing on the left and right wings, respectively, while Viktor Gyokeres could return to the starting lineup after only appearing as a substitute against Port Vale.

This is how the Gunners might appear on paper.
